Hatchery Assistants - Goulburn NSW

About the role

We're looking for a Hatchery Assistants to join the team! This role will involve a range of tasks in the processing area including the daily running of the vaccine room mixing vaccine for the automated administration of vaccines to our day-old chicks. This role requires strong concentration, excellent attention to detail and a high level of precision. You'll need a steady hand, careful technique and the ability to consistently combine and incorporate a number of vaccines accurately and safely, to ensure protection of our chicks against disease is maintained.

Must have

  • Reliable and hard-working attitude.
  • Ability to communicate and work well in a team.
  • Able to comfortably reach above your shoulders, to a height of 190cm
  • The strength to safely lift and carry up to 15kg
  • Able to perform repetitive movements that can include, bending, lifting and twisting
  • Meet Biosecurity standards (no contact with live birds, chickens or pigs) + follow shower in/out procedures.
  • Reliable transport to work
  • Be available to work some weekends, although mainly Monday to Friday.

To be successful in this role you must be fit and healthy and be able to work on your feet all day; combined with the ability to meet biosecurity standards such as not having any outside contact with any live birds, chickens or pigs and also following shower in/out procedures to shower in and out at the beginning and end of each shift. As this is a unique industry, on-the-job training is provided and no prior experience is necessary.

The ideal candidate would be available weekdays and also available to commit to working weekends as required. Work clothes and boots will be supplied and laundered on site.
