Caretaker/Farm Labourer
We are currently seeking a Caretaker/Farm Labourer at Aviagen's Wellington Breeder Farm Operation located near Bodangora NSW. This position will report to the on-site Maintenance Supervisor.
- Full Time, Permanent role (includes immediate personal and annual leave accrual)
- Monday to Friday
- Hourly pay rate starting at $28.30
This role is about conducting site/grounds maintenance on the Wellington Breeder Farm site for aesthetic and biosecurity purposes and will include; the use of machinery (Tractor and slasher, Mower, Whipper Snipper etc.) spraying of weeds, rodent station servicing which are among a diverse range of tasks including general farm labouring.
We are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment, a good understanding of environmental management, health and safety and basic farming skills.
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment
- Good understanding of environmental management
- Skills in engineering and basic mechanical skills
- Self-motivation and organisation
- Ability to organise & carry out maintenance both individually and in conjunction with contractors.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
- Effective communicator, verbal and written (reporting)
- Good manual skills (at times can be a very physical job)
- Proven affinity for safety, risk management and adherence to risk mitigation measures and compliance with health and safety policy and procedures.
Desirable :
- Welder/ chainsaw certificate
- Time Management Skills
- Chemcert certificate or willingness to obtain one
