We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be a key player in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities.
Your role will include, but not be limited to:
- Perform a wide range of duties to install, maintain, repair, and service plant, machinery, and equipment within our breeder livestock facilities in a safe, timely, and professional manner.
- Plan and prioritise ground maintenance activities, including mowing, slashing, weed spraying, road repairs, water stocking, and fencing. Ensure all external areas are orderly and clean.
- Supervise maintenance employees to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Respond to emergency or unscheduled production equipment repairs promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Perform preventive, routine, and scheduled maintenance as required.
- Perform regular inspections and adjustments to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
- Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and any concerns to management.
- Plan and prioritise workloads to support production and optimise working time efficiency.
- Assist in managing the spare parts register and help control, log, and track the usage of parts.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working with a variety of automated farm feed/water or similar type equipment
- Hands on maintenance and repair skills
- An eye for detail and a demonstrable history of electrical/mechanical trouble shooting
- Experience using a maintenance management system (covering planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance)
- Clear communication, reporting skills and use of the English language
- Planning and organisational skills
- Excellent numeracy and computer skills are required
- Good understanding of environmental management
- Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
- Proven affinity for safety, risk management and adherence to risk mitigation measures and compliance with health and safety policy and procedures.
Desirable:
- Electrical, engineering, fitter or similar qualifications would be advantageous
- Full understanding of the poultry livestock farming machinery
Must have:
- Reliable and hard-working attitude.
- Ability to communicate and work well in a team.
- Be fit and healthy (be able to work on your feet all day, and pass a medical including drug & alcohol screening).
- Meet Biosecurity standards (including no contact with live birds, chickens or pigs) + (follow shower in/out procedures).
- A current car license and own transportation.
- Be available to work some weekends.
- Unrestricted & unlimited working rights in Australia (Citizenship or Permanent Residency).
