Aviagen is the world's leading poultry breeding company. Producing and selling day old broiler breeder grandparent and parent chicks to supply customers in more than 130 countries around the world. We are seeking a motivated Quality Assurance Technician for the Australian Hatchery in Goulburn, NSW on a permanent full-time basis
Your position will be critical in ensuring that the chicks sent to our customers are of the best possible quality. Previous experience in a quality role with an animal science degree or similar would be advantageous although not essential. An ability to demonstrate an aptitude in animal husbandry and welfare will be beneficial.
Reporting to the Australian QC Lead, you will work closely with the Hatchery Management and Quality Team to ensure that best practice is followed at all times. You will also assist in customer queries and identifying areas of continual improvement as key aspects of this role.
You will have a positive attitude, capability to learn new techniques and a demonstrable ability to show high levels of attention to detail. Individuals that are fit, reliable, quality focused and experienced, thorough and hardworking are encouraged to apply.
You will work towards offering ongoing continual improvement in the quality of the day old chicks produced by Aviagen Australia. Through internal monitoring, the Quality Assurance Technician provides support to the Hatchery Manager to assist in maintaining quality standards.
Your days will be varied as you:
- Ensure control points in the areas of incubation, order processing and delivery are maintained within critical limits
- Monitor production activities
- Provide daily reporting as required
- Conduct evaluation of Hatchery produce
- Prepare for audits
- Work closely with the Hatchery Management Team, employees to ensure compliance to company standards and specification
- Identify continuous improvement initiatives
The poultry breeding industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry, pigs or other intensive livestock.
